There is an optional Certified Laser Safety Officer exam that is offered by the Board of Laser Safety at the end of this course. To be able to take the exam you MUST apply to the Board of Laser Safety and meet specific educational and work experience Requirements. Once approved by the Board of Laser Safety you may sit for the exam. The total cost to take this exam is $350 ($50 application fee and $300 exam fee). The Laser Safety Officer with Hazard Analysis course may help you to review for the exam but shouldNOT be considered a prep course for the exam. Description:

Designed to teach the knowledge required to perform the duties of Laser Safety Officer as described in the ANSI Z136.1 Safe Use of Lasers standard. Information on lasers and optics, applications, bioeffects, beam and non-beam hazards, hazard analysis, control measures and training on laser safety program development and administration. This course meets all LSO training requirements outlined by ANSI, OSHA and ACGIH. Worth 4.5 ABIH CM Points, 32 CECs by AAHP and 4.5 BLS CM Points by the Board of Laser Safety.

This course is tailored to fit the needs of safety professionals, engineers, laser operators, technicians, and other professionals assigned the duties of Laser Safety Officer or required to perform laser hazard analysis, training, or the administration of a laser safety program for their organization.

Ending times will vary daily. This course ends Friday at noon. Scientific calculators will be provided.

Cancellation Policy
You may, at any time prior to 10 days before your course begins, transfer or cancel your registration and receive a full refund, less an administrative fee of $99. Within 10 days of the course, Laser Institute of America will not issue a refund. However, you can reschedule for a future course at no cost as long as you attend within the next 12-month period. Please be aware that if you cannot attend the course and fail to give proper notification prior to your course date you will forfeit your entire course fee.
